My name is Waruna Ratnayake and I am a photographer based in Hamburg, Germany. As I was planning to write this “about” page I thought, I could come up with some really cool stories about myself. However, to my own disappointment, I couldn’t find anything even worth mentioning. Even as a child I had no noticeable talent in painting, music or dancing. I didn’t regard myself a creative person. Although my inner self was yearning to come up with something creative, it was the lesser talent that was letting me down.

That’s probably why I started falling in love with photography. It opened an unexpected backdoor to the creative realm. Suddenly, I could express my inner most feelings through my photographs. It doesn’t matter what the subject is, my interpretation of it reflects how I feel at a particular moment.

After many years of few successes and many failures, I am starting to find my own style in photography. Obviously, it won’t be appealing to every one. After all no one could achieve such a feat.

As a photographer my aim is to capture the moments, which are precious to me. The idea behind this website is to share some of those moments with a wider audience. Every once in a while I may even be able to share some useful tips on my blog.
